Hubbard's Covered is a 5-piece band covering the life story of one of my heros, the great trumpeter Freddie Hubbard, from his early days on Blue Note and Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers in the 60s through his Grammy Award winning early 70s fusion period, his controversially commercialised late 70s albums and his return to straight ahead jazz in the mid 80s.

We enjoy bringing back to life some of his classic, now standard compositions like Little Sunflower, Up Jumped Spring, Red Clay, Thermo, Byrdlike, Gibraltar, First Light and Open Sesame.

It's proving a popular and easily marketable band at UK jazz festivals and jazz club venues.
